I dress all in fur, from my head to my foot, and my clothes are all tarnished with ashes and soot; a bundle of toys I have flung on my back, and I looked like a peddler just opening my pack. My eyes -- how they twinkle! My dimples how merry! My cheeks are like roses, my nose like a cherry! My droll little mouth is drawn up like a bow, and the beard of my chin is as white as the snow; the stump of a pipe I hold tight in my teeth, and the smoke it encircled my head like a wreath; I have a broad face and a little round belly, that shakes, when I laughed like a bowlful of jelly. I am chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, and you'd laughed when you saw me, in spite of yourself!
